Waldean Keith Peaster

December 22, 1952 — February 1, 2021

Our dear husband and father, Waldean Keith Peaster, was born on December 22, 1952, in Turlock, California, to Marvin and Elda (Voth) Peaster. He passed away at home on February 1, 2021, after a valiant 2-year battle with cancer.

Waldean’s childhood was spent in Merced County, California. He grew up running around on the canal banks and watering sweet potatoes with his brothers and cousins. He met God as his Savior in his teenage years and was baptized on February 6, 1973, by John Jantz. When Waldean was 21, his family moved to Macon, Mississippi with dreams of successful farming. Four years later, he married his beautiful wife, Karen Fay Johnson. Soon after marriage, farming became very difficult, and he switched to raising catfish, which sustained him and his family till the end of his life and is still continuing. Waldean was a true friend to man and loved to help out anyone however he could. His life’s experiences and love of social life brought him many acquaintances and dear friends. We believe it was his love for his Lord that shaped his great personality and his capability to reach out and make others feel so loved. We enjoyed his great sense of humor and listened to his many stories being retold. He truly left us with a legacy. A lasting impression of what God can do through one person. He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law.

Those left with loving memories are his wife, Karen; one son, Joseph and wife, Shawna, and their children, Colton and Zaylee, Brooksville, Mississippi; two daughters, Suzanne and husband, Joel, and children, Kyler and Clairebelle, Crawford Mississippi; Lydia and husband, Joe and their son Grady, Brooksville, Mississippi; two brothers, Dwayne and Nancy Peaster, Brooksville, Mississippi; Dwight and Crystal Peaster, Brooksville, Mississippi; two sisters, Kathleen and Robert Koehn, Mize, Mississippi; Diane and Steve Koehn, Brooksville, Mississippi; mother-in-law, Carol Johnson, Macon, Mississippi; and  a host of family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Brooksville Mennonite Church in Brooksville, MS with Min. Kendall Jost and Min. Brandon Koehn officiating.  Memorials may be made to Oakwood Retirement Community, 55 Oakwood Dr., Brooksville, MS  39739. A viewing will be held at the church Wednesday February 3, 2020 at the church.
