Virginia C. Cotton, 74, of Macon, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, Oxford, MS. Funeral services are planned for Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Macon First Church, Macon, MS. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Monday. The family requests NO FLOWERS, please, memorials may be made to Macon First Church, Macon, MS 39341. Or the charity of your choice. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Virginia Caldwell Cotton was born on May 16, 1951, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to the late Ivory and Mattie Logan Caldwell. She was a proud graduate of Blytheville High School and went on to earn her nursing degree from East Arkansas Community College. Virginia dedicated many years to her career in nursing and retired from Noxubee Medical Complex.

She was united in marriage to Greg Cotton, and together they shared twenty-three wonderful years. A member of Macon First Church, Virginia found great joy in her faith, family, and friendships.

Virginia loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She especially enjoyed antiquing trips with her husband, shopping outings, and preparing meals for those she loved. Her beloved puppy, Oliver, was always by her side. Virginia also cherished her monthly Bunko nights with friends, which brought her much laughter and joy.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Greg Cotton, a daughter, Amy Dover (Tracy) of Forrest City, AR., two sisters, Joanne Bird (Richard) of Phoenix, AZ and Judy Byrd (Brian) of Sunflower, MS, a brother, Dale Caldwell of Osceola, AR and two grandsons, Drew Dover (Brittany) and Matt Dover (Courtney).
