Trinda Koehn Wells was born on June 22, 1962. Although she wasn’t expected, she was selected to join the Bill and Betty Giesbrecht family. They felt she was God-given.

She was raised on the farm helping her Dad, who was proud of her tractor driving skill. She was a “daddy’s girl”. She spent countless hours exploring the creek and playing withher cousins. She was baptized by Minister John Wedel in 1974 at South Haven Mennonite Church. Her heart was broken when her little brother Darren passed away later that same year. She enjoyed sharing her youth years with her brother.

Trinda was joined in marriage to Mervin Koehn on April 26, 1981, by Minister Gladwin Koehn. Their first few months were spent in Fairview, OK, before moving to the Brooksville, MS community. They were blessed with two daughters and one son. Trinda was always busy, working in the yard and helping everywhere she could. She was a talented seamstress. She loved her friends and they loved her back. She married James Wells on August 25, 2011. They enjoyed travelling, going to air shows, and working outside together. He took care of her for over fourteen years.

Although she felt she lost the “rock” of her life when her father passed away, Trinda always found security in her mother. They both cherished their time together, especially the last while, when Trinda would spend the day with her at Oakwood. Her close bond with her sisters also helped her through this tough time. Through sickness and hard times, Tisha cared for and supported her.

Trinda faced challenges that caused her to make choices that she later regretted. If we knew then what we know now, we may have understood her better.

She is survived by her husband James Wells of West Point, MS; her mother Betty Giesbrecht of Brooksville, MS; her children; Tisha and Jeremy Koehn of Shuqualak, MS; Jerome and Sara Beth Koehn of Fairview, OK; and Amber and Blake Howerton of Yukon, OK; granddaughters Brooklyn Reece, Hanna Jo, Laura Belle, Halle June, and Waverly Blake; her children’s father Mervin Koehn of Fairview, OK; siblings Rona and Richard Koehn, Phillip and Sondra Giesbrecht and Kayla and Travis Warkentin; and her dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, her brother, and parents-in-law.
