Timothy Niven, 69, of Shuqualak, MS., passed away surrounded by his family, on July 11, 2026, at UMMC, Jackson, MS. A funeral service is planned for Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Shuqualak Baptist Church in Shuqualak, MS. Interment will be in Shuqualak Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Teens4Christ, P.O. Timothy Niven was born in St Paul, Minn on October 6, 1956, to the late Clarence Niven Jr and Mildred Smith Niven. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Niven. He married Christa Hansen on July 18, 2009 and they have been residents of Shuqualak, MS for the past few years.

Timothy was educated in Minnesota and earned multiple college degrees, graduating from the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, Minnesota. For most of his life, he owned and operated an accounting and tax preparation firm. A devoted Bible scholar, Timothy had a deep love for Scripture and frequently enjoyed teaching Bible study series. He was widely respected for his extensive knowledge of Biblical history as well as historical events. Timothy loved to read and enjoyed woodworking, canning and making his own sausage. An avid John Wayne fan, he had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, especially to visit history museums whenever he had the opportunity. He was also an enthusiastic collector, with a particular fondness for teddy bears, baseball cards, and games of all kinds.

Timothy is survived by his wife, Christa; brother Mike Niven (Bonnie) and numerous nieces and nephews.
