Martha Sue Collins, 87, passed away on May 2, 2025, in Pickensville, AL. Born on November 9, 1937, Martha dedicated her life to loving and nurturing those around her, embodying the true spirit of selflessness and compassion.
A devout Christian, Martha was an active member of Sturgis Baptist Church, where she found great solace and community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with everyone she met.
Professionally, Martha was a cherished childcare giver, a role that she retired from after many years of devoted service. Her natural warmth and kindness made her a beloved figure among the children she cared for and their families. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Lee and Cora Mae Turner Leach, husband, Eugene Collins, brothers: W. R. Leach and Joe Leach, step daugter, Linda Collins.
Martha was a loving mother and is survived by her daughter, Susan Williamson; stepchildren, Phillip (Kathy) Collins, Nancy Wolf, and Susan Marie Collins; a sister, Janice (Giles) Vaughan; along with numerous grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Martha's life was a testament to the power of giving and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, MS, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Private service will be held in Sturgis Cemetery, Sturgis, MS. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
