Mark Pruitt

Mark Pruitt, 58, of Columbus, MS passed away on May 7, 2026, at St. Dominics Hospital, Jackson, MS. There will be a visitation held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Cockrell Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105 or Childrens Cancer Research Fund, (Shriners), 1650 W. 82nd St. Suite 400, Minneapolis, MN 55431. Jeffery Mark Pruitt was born in Monticello, AR on February 2, 1968, to the late Alfred Jefferson and Betty Jean Hartsell Pruitt. He and his family moved to Columbus, MS when Mark was five years old. Mark attended Central Academy in Macon, MS. He spent his work career as a truck driver for Eskridge Trucking and B & G Trucking. Mark loved children and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. In his earlier years, Mark enjoyed riding motorcycles, and fishing. He was known as one of the most kindhearted people you would ever meet.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Katie Weathers of Millport, AL, two sisters, Tina Smith (Greg) of Columbus, MS and Debbie Alford (Rob) of Lawrenceburg, TN; three brothers, Jay Pruitt (Dianne) of Brooksville, MS, Joey Pruitt, Columbus, MS and James Daniel of Columbus; and three grandchildren.
