The funeral service for Mrs. Laura Triplett will be held on Wednesday, September 21, at 2:00 P.M. from Bethel Baptist Church located at 27253 MS-14 in Winston County, MS. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow the service in the Perkinsville Cemetery. Memorials are requested to be made to the Perkinsville Cemetery fund 769 Harold Ming Rd, Louisville, MS 39339. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is honored to be in charge of the service arrangements.

Laura Ann Shepherd Triplett passed away on September 18, 2022 at the age of 94. She was born on

March 4, 1928, daughter of David and Jessie Cotton Shepherd in Kemper County, MS where

she also attended school. Laura was married to John Q Triplett, Sr for 57 years and was a

beloved wife as well as a devoted mother and homemaker. She was employed over the years

in retail sales in Macon, MS. Laura was a member of McLeod’s Chapel for many years and

later Brooksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church until it closed. She loved dearly her Lord and

Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and her friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her best friend and beloved

husband, John Q. Triplett, Sr, her brothers Leonard, Henry, and Jack Shepherd, and also her

sisters Bessie Wilson, Lyla Eldridge, and Dorothy Green. She is survived by her one remaining

sister – Mildred Reed, her two sons – John (Robbie) Triplett of Texarkana, TX, Jacky (Margaret)

Triplett of Columbus, MS, and her two daughters – JoAnn (Bob) Robinson of Columbus, MS

and Janice (Robert) Fulton of Macon, MS. She is also survived by three granddaughters –

Laura (Boone) Baxter of Texarkana, AR, Jessica Triplett of Smyrna, GA, and Brooke Robinson

of Madison, WI plus two great-granddaughters – Helena and Edie Baxter of Texarkana, AR, and

a host of beloved nieces and nephews and their families.

Laura spent the last four years at Dugan Memorial Nursing Home in West Point, where she did

her best to spread the love of Christ and kindness to all. The family would like to express their

appreciation to all the nurses, CNA’s, and staff for the loving care she received there.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send a memorial to the charity of your choice or to

Perkinsville Cemetery Fund, 769 Harold Ming Rd, Louisville, MS 39339.
