Judy was born June 17, 1942, in the Ellison Ridge Community in Winston County, MS, to Harvey and Maggie Lee Haggard. The family soon moved to the Deerbrook Community in Noxubee County. She married Prentiss Wayne Bolin, Sr., in 1957, and they resided in Brooksville for the majority of their lives. Judy was a graduate of the Mississippi University for Women and worked for 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Brooksville and other small towns, including Bigbee Valley, where she served as postmaster. Following her postal career, she spent many years as an accountant and bookkeeper for Hancock Hardware. From an early age, Judy displayed a deep love for music. She understood it as a God-given gift and faithfully returned it to Him through a lifetime of service. God’s hand guided her path, leading her to minister through music. Judy served as a choir member, youth choir director, organist, music director, and treasurer. For her, music was ministry. She was a Life Member of the Junior Auxiliary and participated in Garden Club and other community organizations over the years. Though we mourn her absence, we rejoice in the assurance that she now sings among the angels, praising the God, she loved and served so faithfully. Her legacy of faith, music, and service will continue to bring joy to our hearts.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda; her granddaughter, Caitlin; and her sisters, Carolyn Pugh, Katherine Haggard, and Cindy Haggard.

She is survived by her three children, Printz Bolin (Kimberly) of Oxford, MS; Tammy Weber (Lee) of Austin, TX; and Jay Bolin (Liz) of Ridgeland, MS; as well as her sister, Janie Baggett of O’Fallon, MO; her brother, Donald Haggard (Annette) of Parsons, TN; and her sister-in-law, Ruby Lynn Bolin of Starkville, MS. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Claire Weber and McCall Elkins of Austin, TX; Tripp Bolin of Oxford, MS; Miles Bolin of Washington, DC; Amy Oxford of Priddy, TX; and Matthew Weber of Boerne, TX; and by her great-grandchildren, Jackson Elkins of Austin, TX, and Bo Bolin of Oxford, MS.

The family would like to thank the many friends who helped her along the way, and especially her caregivers over the last several months - Bessie Smith and Louise Patmon, Trinity Healthcare, and Baptist Hospice – Golden Triangle. Memorials may be made to Brooksville Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
