Born on September 24, 1935, in Shuqualak, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Sterling H. Floore Sr. and Imogene Giles Floore, she graduated from Macon High School in 1952 and married Carl W. (Buck) Craig, Jr. in 1954. Mrs. Craig spent much of her career working as a bookkeeper before serving as Deputy Chancery Clerk alongside her father. She was later elected Chancery Clerk of Noxubee County, a position she held for 16 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Macon. Known for her genealogical research and contributions regarding Mississippi History and family heritage, she did extensive research into the Floore/Flora, Craig and Giles family history. She actively posted to genealogy sites and submitted documentation for historical sites such as the Floore Family Cemetery in Preston, Mississippi and the Salem School. She was an active member of the Noxubee County Historical Society for many years helping others research their heritage.

Janelle was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling H. Floore Sr. and Imogene Giles Floore, her husband, C.W. “Buck” Craig and her son-in-law Randy Hall. Following her retirement, she found joy in listening to gospel music and attending bluegrass events. Above all, she treasured the time spent with family and friends. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren, who were truly the center of her life.

She is survived by her children: Carl W. (Pete) Craig, III (Peggy), Nelisa (Necy) Craig Hall and John Thomas Craig (Becci). Her grandchildren: Bailey Hall Grady (Cameron), Ashley Craig O'Neal (Jeremy), Jacob Craig (Sierra) and Abby Craig (Tanner), two great grandsons Jackson O'Neal, Rowan Craig and great-granddaughter Charlotte O'Neal. She is also survived by her sister Nora Joy Floore Holley Joyner and brother Sterling H. Floore Jr. (Mary) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Noxubee County Nursing Home and Noxubee General Hospital for the kindness, compassion, and care they have shown our Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother over the past several years.
