Hazel Lee Jourdan Miller Davis White

Mrs. Hazel Lee Jourdan Miller Davis White, 95, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Bee Hive Homes of Starkville in Starkville, MS., surrounded by her family and friends. A celebration of Hazel's life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 545 Frye Road, Starkville, MS 39759. Private Interment will be in Memorial Garden Park in Starkville, MS. A visitation will be held prior to the service Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hazel's beloved home church: Fellowship Baptist Church, 545 Frye Road Starkville, MS 39759 or The Men's Mission on the Hill, 2494 East Church Hill Road, West Point, MS 39773. Hazel Lee Davis was born in Mashulaville, MS on July 30, 1930. She was the seventh of ten children born to the late Barney Jackson Jourdan and May Belle Clark Jourdan. Hazel is preceded in death by husbands: Luther Bennett Miller, Billy Davis, Choice Durward White; daughter, Mable Bartlett, son-in-law, Ernest Brown. Jr.; granddaughter, Rosemarie Bartlett; grandsons: Ernest Luther Brown, III, and Mitchell Dean Brown; eight siblings, Clara Bell Kemp, Martha Loraine Box, John William Jourdam, Thomas Clinton Jourdan, Mary Elizabeth Cade, Barney Daniel Jourdan, Wilbourn Wesley Jourdan and Roosevelt Franklin Jourdan.

Hazel is survived by one sibling, France Earlene Howell (Dr. Leroy Howell) of Starkville, MS; two daughters, Jewel M. Brown of Mobile, AL and Barbara M. Brown (Eugene S.) of Starkville, MS; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-law and friends.
