Bobby Adams, 81, of Shuqualak, MS., passed away at Baptist Anderson Hospital, Meridian on Thursday, April 17, 2025.A graveside service is planned for Sunday, April 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Butler Cemetery, Shuqualak, MS. Visitation will be held at Butler Pentecostal Church Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Sunday. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Bobby was born on November 20, 1943, in Louisville, MS to the late Jeffie and Mary Abbie King Adams. He attended Nanih Waiya School. Bobby married Wanda Whitehead in 1966. They made their home in Macon, MS. Bobby began working at the feed mill in Macon, MS where he worked until it closed. After that he went to work for Allen Eaves Logging and remained there until his retirement. Bobby loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his free time, enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to gospel music, and spending time with his family. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Bobby was known as being a man of few words, always had a big smile, humble and respected by his friends and family. He was known for drinking coffee all day long and his favorite meal was cornbread and buttermilk. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wanda Adams, siblings, Jean Richardson, Billy Wade Adams, Jack Watson, and Tommy Adams.
Those left to mourn his passing are his beloved daughter, Rhonda Vernon. Grandchildren, Kyle (Christina) Vernon, Cody (Alexa) Vernon, Lori Young, Leah (Jason) Wylie; great grandchildren: Madelyn (J.T.) Holley, Logan (Maddie) Young, Haden (Reaghan) Wylie, Jaleigh Wylie, Miles Vernon, and Dawson Vernon; great-great granddaughter, Eden Wylie, a sister, Dean Wilkerson, and brother, David Watson.
