James Lauren Gates

Mr. Jim Gates, 88, passed away at Noxubee General Hospital on Thursday November 11 2010. There will be a private family graveside service. The family requests no flowers, please. Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, MS 39703.

Mr. Gates was a native of Cresson, PA. He was a graduate of Penn State University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and later was a research analyst with the Department of Defense. He had been a resident of Macon for the past 47 years.

Surviving him is his wife, Mrs. Amanda H. Gates of Macon, MS., a daughter, Lauren A Gates of Murphreesboro, TN, a son, Leslie C Gates of Meridian,a sister, Jane Sietkowski of Cresson, PA. and 3 grandchildren.
