Mrs. Betty M. Cotton, 83, of Macon, MS passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS. Funeral services are planned for Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Macon, MS. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery near Macon, MS. Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 162, Macon, MS 39341. Mrs. Cotton was born on October 16, 1930 in Dancy, AL to the late Stephen Arthur and Lucy Mae Smith McBride. She was a graduate of Aliceville High School. She was married to Jim Nick Cotton Jr. who preceded her in death. She retired as District Four office manager from the Miss Department of Health. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cotton enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with family and friends.
Her survivors include 3 sons: Jim Cotton of Macon, MS, Steve Cotton of Macon, MS and Greg Cotton of Shuqualak, MS.; 2 sisters, Ernestine Lindley of Macon, MS and Janice Stevens of Cochrane, AL; two brothers, Jimmy McBride of Aliceville, AL and Leon McBride of Cochrane, AL., and two granddaughters.
