Mrs. Alice Rigdon Skipper, 69, of Shuqualak, MS. passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Infinity Hospice in Marion, MS. Funeral services will be held at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, MS Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held in Shuqualak Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International . Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Skipper was born on June 22, 1942 to the late Fred and Delsie Howard Rigdon and was a native of Kemper County, MS. She attended grammar school in Porterville, high school in Scooba, MS and graduated from Dekalb High School. She was a member of Briggs Chapel Church. She was married to Ralph Skipper on 1/29/1977. She was a board member of the Macon Library for many years. She was secretary, treasurer and office manager for S & S construction for over 30 years. She was the owner of Parker Florist for several years. She enjoyed cruises and working in her yard. She had a green thumb when it came to plants and ferns.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Skipper of Shuqualak, Ms; 2 sons: Bill Ross of Macon, MS and Michael Ross of Panola, AL., sister: Tommie Morton of Shuqualak, MS; 2 brothers: Mack Rigdon and Leroy Rigdon both of Meridian, MS. ; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.
