Eugene Cotton

Lonnie Eugene Cotton, 75, of Shuqulak, MS. died Friday, June 3, 2011 at Regency Hospital in Meridian, MS. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Soul Harbour Pentecostal Church in Shuqualak, MS. Interment will be held in Pinetucky Cemetery near Shuqualak. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Cockrell Funeral Home Inc is entrusted with arrangements. Mr. Cotton was born on Feb. 26 , 1936. He was raised in Shuqualak, MS and had lived with his aunts and uncle, Betty, Flora and Bob Cotton. He married Mamie Jones in 1962. He worked as a diesel mechanic until he retired. He was a member of Abundant Life Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
He is survived by his spouse, Mamie Cotton of Shuqualak, MS; one daughter, Rhonda Cotton Willis of Denham Springs, LA.; 3 sons, Lonnie Cotton, Jr. of Zachary, LA; Robert Cotton of Pride, LA; and Richard Cotton of Zachary, LA. Also left to mourn his passing are his 5 grandchildren, Randy and Justin Cotton, Jared Willis, Lance Etue and Lauren Cotton; 2 step grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Love; and 1 great granddaughter Breleigh Etue.
